Instructions Before Oral Surgery

Local Anesthesia OR Local Anesthesia with Nitrous Oxide

  • You may eat or drink prior to your procedure
  • If you use prescription medications, take them on your normal schedule
  • No escort necessary- you can drive yourself home following the procedure
  • Have your prescriptions filled prior to surgery. Call our office the day before with your pharmacy number. Note: Opioid pain relievers cannot be called into a pharmacy. 

Local Anesthesia with Oral (tablet) Sedation

  • You may eat or drink prior to your procedure
  • If you use prescription medications, take them on your normal schedule
  • You will need an escort to drive you home following your surgery. This person should come with you remain in the office during the entire procedure.
  • Have your prescriptions filled prior to surgery. Call our office the day before with your pharmacy number.

General Anesthesia

  • Do not eat or drink (including water) 6 hours prior to your procedure.
  • If you use prescription medications, take them on you normal schedule using as little water as possible
  • Wear short-sleeved loose fitting clothing.
  • You will need an escort to drive you home following your surgery. This person should remain in the office during the entire procedure.
  • Remove nail polish, apply as little makeup as possible, and refrain from using perfumes and colognes.
  • Have your prescriptions filled prior to surgery. Call our office the day before with your pharmacy number.
