In Office CT Scans / Digital X-rays
North Sound Oral Surgery‘s Cone Beam CT scanner is the most advanced digital x-ray available for diagnosing and treatment planning in oral surgery. The three dimensional images provided by our CT scanner provide the most accurate method available for precise surgical planning.
When indicated, cone beam CT images can be used to show the anatomy surrounding impacted third molars in great detail. The surgical approach to difficult impactions can then be planned ahead of time, assuring the least invasive path and decreasing any risks to nearby structures.
In all but the most simple cases, CT scans are becoming the standard of care for planning dental implant procedures. Advanced software allows Dr. Hooe to perform detailed virtual implant placement surgery for individual patients using cone beam CT scans. The precision and accuracy of CT scanning software allows Dr. Hooe and other members of the patient care team to collaborate visually while developing the optimal treatment plan. For each individual patient, the ideal implant size, shape, and position can be pre-determined using treatment planning software. When indicated, custom surgical guides can be created to transfer the optimal implant positions determined by the virtual surgery, to the patient.
The CT guided surgery technique helps assure minimally invasive surgery while maximizing the strength and esthetics of dental implant supported teeth. Cone beam CT scans are also invaluable for bone pathology. Before surgery, cysts, tumors, and other irregularities in the bone can be visualized with accuracy and detail. This information is invaluable for efficient surgical planning to remove jaw bone pathology.
